Super at Home in Super Hotel

May 25, 2019

Whenever I'm off to another country, I couldn't help but go back to my roots and find comfort in the familiarities found in a hotel. Super Hotel did not let me down as I spend my last day in Yangon, Myanmar. It is not far away from the airport, probably around 20 minutes tops without traffic. Super Hotel is a Japanese hotel chain known for its safety, cleanliness, and comfort. It is also budget-friendly and perfect for Japanese like me, who are looking for service and comfort close to home.

My room was very spacious and shows a fabulous view of the city. I also love that it has a table where I could work and write on my journal. The Japanese breakfast also was super. I got the traditional breakfast set of mackerel, rice, salad, miso soup, and natto or fermented beans (an acquired taste, really not for all) for an extra 3,000kyats. The food is served in their in-house restaurant called Shakiriki 432, which is also another famous Japanese restaurant chain in Osaka so food is cheap, yet guaranteed authentic and delicious.

But the best part is probably the onsen or natural hot spring that is free for the hotel guests to use. It has an outdoor and indoor bathing option and water is super hot, so it's perfect as I want to relax and feel the toxins from my body being released. This is surely the best way for me to end my Myanmar trip.

The hotel is also located minutes away from tourist attractions such as the Shwedagon Pagoda, Sure Pagoda, and very very nearby Inya Lake. Location is definitely superb at a very reasonable price.
