Taal Vista Hotel is located in the heart of Tagaytay City. This hotel is perfectly and strategically situated by the Taal lake giving its guests the best view of the volcano and a taste of the mountain's fresh breezy winds. I love how it is also tells a lot of its history which still dated from 1939. It's filled with so much history, preserved through time.
What I've noticed upon entering the hotel was the warm and genuine greetings from the staff that made me feel at home. It seems so easy to connect to this place, not just because of its past but also because of its hospitality that's distinctly Filipino.
As part of their renovations, they have recently opened the mountain wing ridge rooms which boasts a new level of style and comfort. I love the private balcony overlooking the relaxing view of the Taal Lake. I do my morning meditation here and it just gives me the much needed boost to get through the day.
I also enjoyed the ambience of the Veranda where we had our breakfasts and lunch buffets. It showcases international and best selling Filipino dishes like the tapa, danger, longganisa, and champorado! Who else loves putting powdered milk in their champorado? For lunch, they offer more selections - Japanese, Spanish, American, Chinese, Thai, and many more mouthwatering dishes found all over the world.
For dinner, we went to Taza Fresh Table where they serve organic dishes made from scratch. In fact, some of its ingredients are even freshly picked from the hotel's organic garden. My favourite would probably be the spinach with homemade bacon jam with the mezze flat bread. The lobster pasta is also a must-try. To top it all off, I had the molten chocolate cake as dessert. Mm-hmmmm.....
For the unique activities that you can do here, I highly recommend doing the picnic by the garden. There are also 3 options to choose from depending on your company - family style picnic, kiddie picnic, or romantic picnic.
There are several more activities that you can enjoy doing inside the hotel. You can also get a massage in their spa, swim in the pool or relax in the lobby lounge where they serve delicious Filipino merienda. They also have a live band at night that's perfect if you want to some night cap while enjoying great tasting beer and bar chows.
And if you're feeling adventurous, the Sky Ranch is just a few steps away from the hotel. It has a guest-only access to the theme park which is so convenient. Aside from that, you can also opt to go to Gourmet Farms, Casino Filipino, Ilog Maria Bee Farm, Pink Sisters, Caleruega, People's Park, and Orlina Museum. These can all be arranged at the concierge who are very friendly and helpful.
I honestly find it interesting how the hotel transformed into how it is now without losing some of its core values. Today, it is considered a landmark that is deeply entrenched in the history and heritage of Tagaytay City. My sister and I surely bonded and enjoyed our stay here. So if you want to relax or unwind, this is the definitely the place to stay that's here for always.
