If you're an avid fan of K-dramas, then going to Nami Island should be one of your priorities when you go here. Apart from the shots taken for the Korean drama, Winter Sonata, there are several activities that you can do before, during, and after this tour so that you can truly maximise your day.
We opted to have our tour with Korea E-Tour because they made our trip very comfortable and hassle-free. They are very friendly and responsive to all our inquiries. Our tour guide / driver was Mr. Kim, who I highly recommend because of his professionalism and resourcefulness. He drove us around and shared his insights and history of Korea. He can also speak fluently four languages - Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese; so communication will not be a problem throughout your whole trip.
Our first stop before heading to Nami Island is the Petite France or Little France. It's an hour and half drive from Seoul. This has become famous because of the Korean Drama, My Love from Another Star. There are also references from the book, The Little Prince / Le Petite Prince. And while we are here, we also decided to get a cup of coffee because hey, we're in "France" and well.. it was also freezing that time so we needed something warm hehe
We had lunch near the Nami Island port. The specialty dish around the area is Chuncheon and made it into a bibimbap topped with oozing cheese. Yum! It's very delicious!
We took the ferry in Gapyeong Wharf going to Nami Island. It takes about 6 minutes getting there and we had about 4 hours to explore it.
Tip: We went here on a weekday so there wasn't a lot of tourists as usual.
This is probably one of my favourite place to do a lot, and I mean A LOT, of photo shoots because of the numerous and amazing landscapes. I love the tree lanes, woodlands, and riverside walks around the island. We went here before the snow fell, but you'll find that the island still offers picturesque sceneries all year round.
You can also rent a bike so that it'll be easier for you to explore the island. If you've been following my (mis)adventures, you'll find that I still struggle when it comes to riding a bike. So we didn't really get far because of me haha!
THE GARDEN OF MORNING CALM
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Mr. Kim took us to the Garden of Morning Calm. Here, we marvelled at its beautiful pathways and sceneries. It's very romantic here, perfect for couples who want to escape the city. Unfortunately, we arrived here a bit too early so we didn't catch the night light exhibit, which is also what made it so famous. Still, we had an amazing time here and felt so relaxed and grateful for this experience.
Again, this trip would no have been made possible if it wasn't for the very hospitable CEO of Korea E Tour, Mr. Jacky. He made sure that we had an amazing and memorable time throughout the whole tour. So if you're thinking of doing the same activities like we did, make sure to book with them.
